- Trained in paediatric cardiology at the Necker Hospital for Sick Children in Paris, at Saint-Luc and at the Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston (USA)
- President of the “Nos enfants cardiaques” Association, 1997-1999
- Co-founder of the “La Chaîne de l’Espoir” Association since 1997
Clinical activities
Professor Sluysmans specialises in congenital cardiac malformations in children and adults. His key areas of scientific interest include single ventricles, the study of ventricular function and long and medium-term evolution of children treated by cardiac catheterisation.
Societies and scientific publication
Professor Sluysmans has published more than a hundred articles in medical journals including Circulation, American Journal of Physiology, Pediatric Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology, European Journal of Pediatrics, Acta Cardiologica, European Journal of Cardiology, Archives françaises de Pédiatrie.
He is also a member of the Belgian Paediatric Society, the Belgian Paediatric Cardiologists Association and the Association for European Paediatric Cardiology.
